Summertime! The Best Time To…

For most of us, summertime means #nohomework! Don’t be shy to get up on your soapbox and yell at the top of your lungs: Whoo hoo! Go ahead, do it. Feels awesome, right?

Especially after 9 months of nothing but assignments and more assignments and more assignments after that. Don’t forget about all of those tests! Take a big breath of relief and enjoy the freedom!

During these summer months, maybe you are working at a day camp? An Ice cream shop? Touring the country with your folks? Visiting family? Or maybe you are even at overnight camp. If you are – then why do you have access to a phone? 

After you do what you have to do, as in your day job, or being a tourist, notice that you have some free time. So, we have to ask, what do you think you could be doing? 

May we suggest some exercise?

There are a gazillion ways you can manifest some exercise into your summer routine, and here are just a few examples.

1. After dinner with the fam, put on some comfortable shoes and walk around the neighbourhood. The temperature is sure to drop after the sun goes down, which will make it quite comfortable. Walking after dinner, even for 15 minutes will aid in digestion and help improve blood sugar levels. Ah, take it even further and we dare you to go to a park and take a swing on the monkey bars which will be a fun, free and nostalgia upper-body workout! 

2. Book yourself a yoga class after your day and before dinner. Yoga helps relieve stress, increases energy and positivity regarding your morale. Perhaps something made you feel frustrated during your day. A yoga class can help with that.

3. Go for a run! Make sure you fully digest your dinner – you don’t want it all over the sidewalk. Or go before. Check out @sadiesink from @strangerthingstv. Do you think she had dinner before or after this leap?
