You’ve got to try these yummy kale chips because it’s kale season!
Every week my family orders from @thefruitcart.ca and lately, due to the season, we have been getting get a HUGE bag of Kale. Yay!

What’s so good about Kale? It’s loaded with Vitamins: A, C, and Folate. (helps with brain development) It also contains minerals such as Manganese, Copper, Potassium, Calcium, Zinc, and don’t forget the antioxidants!
Kale can be curly or flat. Some even have a blueish tint. Try it in a salad. Throw some in a pasta dish and in a soup. Here’s a sneaky trick that I do all the time. I take frozen kale (or spinach) and put about half a cup of these amazing greens into smoothies. It may turn slightly green but it doesn’t change the taste of what you blended together. In other words, the chocolate banana smoothie will taste like a chocolate banana smoothie.
There is one thing that you can do with kale, that is hands down, my favourite snack in the world. You’ve got to try these yummy kale chips! Best of all, the recipe is easy peasy!
KALE CHIPS
Lovingly borrowed from @lisaborden and @BordenCommunications from the best selling book The Tale of Kale! (www.TheTaleOfKale.com)

INGREDIENTS:
- A bunch of curly kale
- 1 TBS of Avocado oil or Camelina oil
- 1 TBS lemon juice
- A Sprinkle of sea salt
INSTRUCTIONS:
Wash and dry kale leaves
Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Rip off kale leaves from the stem into large, bite-size pieces. Massage oil into the kale really well in a bowl. Sprinkle with sea salt and lemon juice and massage more. Spread leaves on a baking sheet in a single layer, without pieces touching
Bake for 15-20 minutes (keep a close eye on them, since every oven is different!)
Enjoy right out of the oven, or wait until they have cooled down a bit. Sprinkle with a little fresh lemon juice and lots of nutritional yeast, which adds a cheesy flavour. You can also add any seasoning or herb(s) you like.
Store leftovers (if there are any!) in an air-tight container.
