Welcome to The Great Tempeh Challenge Part 2. This is not the first time that I have made something that did not work out. Mind you, the tempeh recipe that I posted two weeks ago, did work out, but it didn’t work out well enough for me.
I was determined to try again.
Being the Pescatarian that I am, I love to experiment with different kinds of soy. The health benefits are incredible and even though I am no maven in the kitchen, it’s fun to try new things with a source that is able to soak up any flavour.
Round 1
Two weeks ago, I consulted with the very famous, lovely, and knowledgeable Marsha Fenwick (@marshafenwicknutrition) who gave me a delicious recipe for Tempeh. I made it, and was brave enough to invite a few guests over for dinner to be my guinea pigs! Everyone loved it and my husband ate the leftovers the next day. I admit that it was good, but I have tasted tempeh at someone else’s home over the summer and I was determined to make it just like she did because it was so damn good!
So I decided to try again! The Great Tempeh Challenge Part 2!
Here we go!
So I asked my friend for the recipe, and 5 minutes later it was in my inbox. Here it is. It was created by Love and Lemons (@loveandlemons). The only problem was, the marinade had no specific instructions. It just said the following:
“A simple mixture of tamari or soy sauce, rice vinegar, maple syrup, olive oil, and sriracha.”

So We Begin!
Nothing was going to stop me from trying another tempeh recipe, even if I didn’t have the exact measurements. I suppose I could have asked my friend what she did, but I decided to venture into The Great Tempeh Challenge Part 2 on my own. So there I was in my kitchen. figuring out a little of this and a little of that. I actually poured two tablespoons of each, but just a teaspoon of the sriracha, because that stuff is liquid fire.
I decided to have some fun while cooking and take some pictures!

The verdict? They were definitely tasty, but they still had that nutty flavour, which I think is here to stay. Who knows, maybe I’ll try again!
