Learning, loving, and trusting your gut are what Lidia Wojcik (@lidiawojcik) is all about. Not to mention a rewarding career along with a loving and fulfilling family life that is filled with reflection and balance.
Sounds amazing, right? I have to be honest and let you know that this healthy attitude toward life and admirable state of being wasn’t always the case.
To say Lidia has been through a lot is an understatement. However, the pain and lessons that were learned have a great purpose. To teach all who read the following interview and wise words in the book Get Up to do one thing.
Trust your instincts.
Read on and you will see what I mean.
Who is Lidia Wojcik?
I am a highly sensitive empath with a generous amount of compassion. Even though I have been through a lot of pain and suffering in my life – abandonment, rejection, and physical, and psychological abuse, I am not bitter or angry.
I do not blame anyone or anything for my circumstances and the only thing my heart and soul want to do in return is to LOVE.
I am a self-proclaimed alchemist. Through years of self-discovery and a willingness to overcome all of the negativity in my life, I have reached a place where I can transform anything negative into something positive.
I challenge everyone I know to bring me their worst stories, and worst
situations, and I promise I will find some light within that darkness.
Nothing is impossible in my world. I have the most incredible stories to share and I love inspiring others through my stories, taking ownership of their lives, thinking outside the box, and challenging what we have been taught as a society.
I’m all about learning, loving, and trusting your gut.
What is your typical day like?
Our days start and end with gratitude. This sets the stage for a positive mindset throughout the day. Aside from the daily hustle and bustle of work and school life, we try to incorporate music and dance into everything we do especially while cooking and doing house chores.
As a single mother – chores take up a lot of my time. My daughter and I spend a lot of time talking about everything and anything under the sun. On weekends we like to venture to places we have never been to (like quaint little towns in the middle of nowhere) or drop off little surprise packages to friends and family.
What are your hobbies?
Reading, writing, and learning are my favourite pastimes. I just started a book by Dr. David B Hawkins called Letting Go – A pathway to surrender. There’s nothing like engaging in conversations with people who have different perspectives on all things from food to parenting to religion.
Please share your journey to your current career
I am very proud of my journey to becoming an Account Manager at Brother Canada. In all honesty – it was not a career choice, but a career of necessity. I did not have the luxury of going to University due to my life circumstances at the time, but I worked hard.
The most important aspect of my career with Brother is that I overcame a huge fear to get here. I had been with my previous company for 18 years, where I was highly regarded. I don’t like to be stagnant and I especially don’t like not moving forward or growing. So even though I was very very comfortable in my role and salary – I wanted more.
Leaving a company with so much security and tenure to start something
new, as a single mom with no safety net, was extremely terrifying – but has proven to be one of the best decisions I have ever made.
I am also a Reiki practitioner. Reiki is another form of unconventional meditation.
Reiki provides an opportunity to restore your inner balance, reduce your stress, and help you reconnect with your overall well-being.
If you weren’t at Brother, what would you do?
If I had the luxury to do what I wanted to do – I would absolutely be working with children, seniors, or animals in any capacity. I am an animal lover who dreams of living in the countryside someday with a house full of rescued animals. OR … I would finally have the time to write my book.
How do you Relax?
Meditation is my relaxation. My idea of meditation is very different than most. I, of course, have my singing bowls and crystals and love to listen to high-frequency binaural beats. My absolute go-to for relaxation is what I like to call – conversations with “God” and the universe. I place God in quotations because I am not a religious person at all – but I 100% believe in a higher power.
This is where practicing Reiki comes in.
Even if I feel mentally and physically great, practicing Reiki in those quiet meditative moments is a way for me to fill my bucket so that I have the strength, faith, and resolve to carry me through more difficult times.
It is imperative for me at the end of every day to sit or lay quietly in my room and just have an honest chat with God. I have had many A-ha moments doing this.
Editor’s note: I love hearing different ways to meditate – here’s mine!
Please elaborate on the quote you published:
“No matter what situation you are in, always, always trust your gut instinct.”
The human body is an amazing thing. We have built-in BS detectors that help us know when we are not in alignment with our true and authentic selves. Our intuition compels us to reject anything that separates us from a peaceful and loving state of being.
For every mistake I have made in life, I knew that my gut WAS trying to warn me, but I chose not to listen. I negotiated. Turned a blind eye and didn’t believe it. I doubted, ignored, and inevitably always had to pay the consequence of not listening to my core truth.
Our intuition is never wrong. It is our souls speaking to us and wanting only the best for us. Once we learn to trust ourselves the world becomes a much less scary place to navigate. When faced with any situation – If something “feels” wrong in the pit of your stomach, at the very least – take pause. Recognize it is your higher self trying to tell you something. Have the courage and conviction to trust yourself and know that the universe will always have your back. Your brain can play tricks on you. Your heart can be blinded by Love. But your gut is always right.

Thank you, Lidia, for being so transparent. Your honesty and wise words will teach others to slow down and pay attention so learning, loving, and trusting your gut can unfold.
And then the magic can happen.
