Say Yes is a wonderful book! Right from the moment I opened the cover, the messages and beautiful graphics sucked my attention in like a vacuum cleaner. Oh my goodness, Lisa Borden (@lisaborden) of Borden Communications (@bordencommunications)! You wrote and designed a beauty!
“Wow…OMG Yes. And Yes. And.. Yessiree.” I said out loud to myself. There’s a reason why this book has the word yes in it! It’s all true!
As I take my notebook in hand to write down (I’m old school, darling!) what I want to highlight and discuss from Say Yes, I found myself writing down a list that became too long. What was I to do, as I like to keep my blogs within a respectable range in length?
I had no choice but to choose just 3 topics to discuss. And that, my friend, wasn’t easy.
But I can do hard things, so let’s get to it. First, let’s begin with my big mistake.
The Plan
As soon as Say Yes was in my hands, I ran to my couch and devoured it. Then I dashed to my laptop to write a review on Amazon. Aside from telling the world that Say Yes is a wonderful book, I recommended keeping Say Yes by your bedside, as I a huge fan of reading before bed with a good book.
That was a huge mistake. For me, at least.
This stunning work of art, with the smartest advice, that makes sense, is too pretty to keep at home. I have officially decided to keep Say Yes with me wherever I go. It will join my wallet, keys, phone, and my other accouterments in my purse.
Why?
Whenever I will be in line. At the bank. The grocery store. And when I’m at the hair salon (see the feature image) I will take a moment and read from Say Yes. Even though I have read it before, each time I pick it up, I find that there is something new to learn. It’s all perspective and it will be a nice change from my smartphone.
Of course, Say Yes will always be welcomed by my bedside. Just not all the time.
The Quote that Hit Home
“Life is Too busy for later… even with the best intentions, later usually means never.”
OMG, could this quote hit me any harder? My head shook as I read and re-read this quote. I have been a victim of “Sure Sharon, I’ll show up.” And then they don’t. Perhaps you can relate to what I wrote about here.
We all have choices
How lucky are we that we are faced with choices? Multiple times a day! From the moment we wake up, to the time when we rest our heads on our pillows. After your day is complete, and you look back on all the choices you made that day, how do you feel?
Was there a time that you should have said no? Or said yes?
Making time to exercise. How you treat yourself. How you treat others. Who you spend your time with. Who you follow on social media. Not only do you have more power than you think, but you are stronger than you think. The choices you make may be difficult and challenging at first, but in the long run, the benefits are priceless.
One last thing
I promised that I would discuss three topics from Say Yes, which is a wonderful book. But I have to talk about one more thing.
The Hug Challenge.
How could you pass on the rush of endorphins? The connection between two people? After the years that we had, it’s too hard not to hug because it feels so good!
Say Yes is a wonderful book!
A quick read? Yes. beautiful to look at? Yes. Filled with advice that you can talk about with those that matter? Heck yes – and that’s the best part about reading if you ask me.
Go get your copy of Say Yes.
And keep it wherever you want. Just keep it nearby.
