Walking is a huge part of my life, even before the pandemic hit. I walk as much as I can to avoid the hassle of parking and to clear my head. Recently, I have welcomed the 3D walking challenge in my life! A new way of walking – in 3D!
Before I get into the 3D walking challenge, as with everyone, for about a month now, my life has turned upside down and as a result, my life has changed.
There is a long list that I can complain about, but here are the highlights:
1. The luxury of having weekly housekeeping done by someone else has vanished.
2. The gym that I used to attend to, to start my day, is closed.
3. The social activities that I looked forward to – gone into thin air.
Most of my work is usually done from home, on my laptop, so I am lucky in that regard.
The one thing that must and will remain consistent is my physical activity. It’s the one thing that I can control. It places me in the driver’s seat, which makes me feel not only physically, but mentally stronger.
Aside from the online classes that I take almost daily, as usual, I make sure that I get a chance to walk outside and get fresh air, and most importantly, to clear my head.
I recently noticed how important it is to walk but to also add a “twist” into your walking routine. To move in a non-linear way.
To walk in a 3D way – to take the 3D Walking Challenge!
Why? Walking traditionally, meaning in a forward motion, has many health benefits. The list is endless, but here are the ones that I think are awesome: It increases your metabolism, reduce stress and elevate your mood.
Walking in a 3D way – sideways and backward, “builds spatial awareness, balance, and enhanced mobility, strength, and performance. You need to build optimum physical wellness and prevent injury.” According to @Bordencommunications.
So, here I am, walking sideways yesterday afternoon. I did it both ways and backward too. It felt weird and was way harder than walking forward. Uncomfortable too. My family members that I was walking with were quite amused, as were passers-by – #6FeetAway. A definite change, just like my life is right now.
But that’s where the growth happens.

I’m so grateful to be able to have the opportunity to write about what I’m passionate about and what I think will serve others. If you would like me to write about you or for your own company, please be in touch.
